Provision of the website (log files)
Description and scope of data processing
When you access our website, that is, even if you do not register or otherwise submit information, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address, the referrer URL, the date and time of access and similar details.
It is processed in particular for the following purposes:
- Ensuring that a connection to the website can be established without problems
- Ensuring the smooth use of our website
- Ensuring and evaluating system security and stability, in particular for the detection of misuse
- For the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of our website
The data is also stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user. We do not use your data to draw conclusions about your identity. However, we reserve the right to review the server log files retrospectively should there be concrete indications of unlawful use.
Recipients of the data
For the operation and maintenance of our website, we use service providers who act as our processors. All service providers are contractually obliged to treat your data confidentially.
Visitor counting
We count visits to our website with Umami, software that we run ourselves on servers in Switzerland. No cookies are set and no IP addresses are stored: the IP address is used only to derive the approximate region and is discarded afterwards. An identifier that changes from day to day and cannot be traced back to you means that we do not recognise you beyond the current day. We do not pass this data on to third parties. If you do not wish to be counted, activate the Do Not Track setting in your browser. We respect it.
Contacting us
Description and scope of data processing
Our website contains a contact form which can be used to contact us electronically. If you make use of this option, the personal data entered in the input mask is transmitted to us and stored. The processing of your personal data serves solely to handle your enquiry. If you are a tenant in the properties we manage, or if you are interested in renting from us, your data may be stored in our administration system for the purpose of further contact in connection with your tenancy.
In the application form for prospective tenants you may voluntarily enclose documents, for example a debt collection report or payslips. These files are not stored on the website. They are sent to our team as an email attachment and are used solely to review your application.
At the time the message is sent, the following data is also transmitted and stored:
- Date and time of the enquiry
- URL from which the enquiry was made
- IP address
Recipients of the data
Our website is maintained by service providers who act as our processors. If you send us an enquiry regarding an offer, service providers engaged by us may receive data for these purposes insofar as they require the data to perform their respective services. All service providers are contractually obliged to treat your data confidentially.
Use of cookies
Description and scope of data processing
A cookie is a small data record that is created when a website is visited and temporarily stored on the user's system. Cookies help to make a website usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation and access to secure areas of the website.
Technically necessary cookies
Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. The following data is stored and transmitted in these cookies:
- Language settings
No analytics cookies
We do not use analytics or tracking cookies. To count visitors we use software that we run ourselves, which works without cookies and does not recognise you; the section “Visitor counting” explains how it works. Your acknowledgement of the cookie notice is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to us.
Map services and location search (swisstopo)
On the property detail pages, we embed an interactive map from the federal geoportal (map.geo.admin.ch, Federal Office of Topography swisstopo). On the search results map we additionally load map tiles from wmts.geo.admin.ch, and the location search transmits your input to api3.geo.admin.ch. In all three cases your IP address is technically transmitted to servers of the Swiss Confederation. We have no influence over this data processing; the data protection notices of the federal administration apply.
Data from the tenancy
To manage your apartment, we process the data belonging to the tenancy: name, address, contact details, information about the rented property, as well as reports and correspondence you send us.
We pass on this data insofar as it is necessary for the management:
- to the owners of the property,
- to trade and service companies we commission for repairs, maintenance or cleaning,
- to a new management company when our mandate for your property ends,
- to authorities, insofar as we are legally obliged to do so.
If you report damage, the commissioned company receives your name, the address of the rented property and your telephone number, so that it can arrange the appointment directly with you.
You can request information at any time about which data we process about you and have incorrect data corrected. Please contact the address given above.
Damage reports
With the damage report form on this website you can report damage without logging in. We process what you enter: name, address, email address, phone number, when you can be reached, the details of the damage and any photos. The report is stored on our servers in Switzerland. Based on the address, we assign it to the property and pass it on to our management system. There, the responsible person in property management handles it. We send a confirmation of receipt to the email address you provided. It contains only the report number and the type of damage.
We keep damage reports and the photos belonging to them for two years from receipt of the report, and conversation histories for one year after the last message. They are deleted thereafter.
Rights of the data subject
You have the following rights with regard to personal data concerning you:
- The right to obtain information about which personal data we store about you and how we process it
- The right to receive a copy of your personal data in a commonly used format
- The right to rectification of your personal data
- The right to erasure of your personal data
- The right to object to the processing of your personal data
You may withdraw any consent you have given to the processing of personal data at any time by notifying us. Please note that the withdrawal only takes effect for the future.
For information about the personal data we process, please send your access request to info@euro-estates.ch.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
